Rapper-actor Heavy D dead at 44

LOS ANGELES

The staff at Myers' condominium in the 400 block of N. Maple Drive in Beverly Hills said he had returned to his home from shopping just before 11:30 a.m. As he was going to his home, he experienced difficulty breathing.

The staff tried to help him to his home but he collapsed.

Officers arrived and found Myers conscious but having a hard time breathing.

Paramedics rushed Myers to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center around noon, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death will be determined by the coroner's office.

Myers had several hits, including "Nuttin' But Love" and "Now That We Found Love" in the early '90s. He also rapped on the theme song from the TV sketch comedy series "In Living Color."

Myers recently made several TV show appearances, including on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." He also made a cameo in Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller's new film, "Tower Heist."
