LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.

The curious otter came up to the "Dana Pride," and spectator took a photograph.

A marine biologist says it's been more than 30 years since a sea otter has been seen in the region.

Just a couple of months ago, another sea otter was spotted in San Diego at Zuniga Point Jetty.

In California, they're most common in such places as Morro Bay and Monterey.
