Wednesday marks 10 years since the first detainees arrived at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Since that time, Guantanamo has been used as a detention facility in the war on terror, but it's also been a lightning rod for human rights activists.

A vigil was planned Wednesday morning by protesters in front of the federal building in downtown Los Angeles to mark the anniversary.

The Obama administration said it is still committed to closing the facility, but there is no time table for that to happen.
