'One Life To Live' takes final bow after 43 years

After 43 years on the air, cast members of "One Life To Live" have taken their final bow.

For more than 40 of those 43 years, Erica Slezak played the show's central character, Victoria Lord Gordon Riley Burke Riley Buchanan Buchanan Carpenter Davidson Banks. The role earned her six Emmy awards.

"I am enormously grateful for our viewers who have watched through thick and thin," Slezak said. "The letters, the response we get is more than heartwarming. It is almost a validation of what we're doing, that you enjoy it, that you learn from us, that you care about us. It's been a great run."

Several "One Life to Live" actors will be moving on to ABC's remaining daytime drama, "General Hospital." Kassie DePaiva, Roger Howarth, Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson will move their "One Life to Live" characters to "General Hospital."

DePaiva, Howarth, Easton and Alderson play Blair Cramer, Todd Manning, John McBain and Starr Manning, respectively.
