Public Enemy, Cypress Hill to host skid row concert

January 16, 2012 12:00:00 AM PST
Hip-hop groups Public Enemy and Cypress Hill are teaming up to host a concert on Los Angeles' skid row on Monday.

Following the performances, Chuck D will announce plans to take on radio stations in what's being dubbed "Occupy the Radio," which will aim to persuade stations to give more air time to local music.

The concert runs from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. near east 5th Street and Gladys Avenue in downtown L.A.

The purpose is to draw awareness to issues such as homelessness. The free event will feature artists including King T, The Dogg Pound and The Egyptian Lover.
