Police say they tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver sped off instead, leading to a pursuit that lasted about 10 minutes. The driver lost control of the vehicle and came to a stop near Magnolia and Donald streets.
Authorities said the driver tried to ram officers, forcing the officers to open fire. The driver then fled on foot while police took his passenger into custody.
After a search with the help of a K-9 unit, police found and arrested the suspect. The man was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
