Police received a 911 call just after 8 p.m. Tuesday from the 5900 block of East Birch Street. The caller told police there was a disturbance at the residence, someone was dead and the suspect took off.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of a 31-year-old man, wrapped in a blanket or sleeping bag, inside a converted, detached garage.
Neighbors said the victim was a friend of a man named Kevin Mansfield, who lived in the garage. After a short search of the neighborhood, police found Mansfield and arrested him for murder.
