Immigration status on restaurant health-grade placards rejected

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif.

The County Board of Supervisors proposed that restaurants use the /*E-Verify*/ system, a federal database to check a person's immigration status.

The restaurant health inspection placard that displays an A, B or C grade would also display a green background for those who screen their employees' immigration status. A red background would be displayed for those that do not.

Tuesday afternoon the proposal was rejected.
