Bobby Brown gets probation with DUI plea deal

April 25, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
Singer Bobby Brown took a plea deal on a drunk driving charge and was able to avoid any jail time.

An attorney entered a no contest plea on Brown's behalf on Wednesday. He was immediately sentenced to a 90-day alcohol program, three years probation and a $390 fine.

The former New Edition singer was arrested in Tarzana on March 26 after he was spotted talking on a cellphone without a hands-free kit.

He was married to Whitney Houston for 15 years and is the father of the late singer's only child.
