San Bernardino park shooting leaves 2 dead, 2 injured

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

Investigators said Ramiro Aguilar, 35, and Corey Broussard, 31, were fatally shot around 9 p.m. in the parking lot of Delmann Heights Community Center at 2969 N. Flores St.

Authorities said their investigation has revealed that the shooting may have stemmed from an argument between the two men, although it was not immediately clear who shot them. Police said the shooter may have been either one of the victims, or neither.

"This incident began between an argument between Mr. Aguilar and Mr. Broussard, so their involvement is obviously being looked into as anybody else that was in the area," said Lt. Paul Williams of the San Bernardino Police Department.

The weapon believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered on the front lawn of a nearby home.

Officials said two people appeared to be innocent victims of the shooting. One woman, 49-year-old Luisa Villalobos, was found in her car with a gunshot wound to her head. She was hospitalized in grave condition. A man was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot.

According to investigators, the victims were playing sports or barbequing when the shooting occurred. Detectives questioned witnesses, but no arrests were made.

The violence comes on the heels of a deadly week in San Bernardino. There have been six homicides within eight days.

Anyone with information on the park shooting or other leads that can help police was asked to call Det. Michele Mahan at (909) 384-5619 or Sgt. Gary Robertson at (909) 841-5361.
