Pablo Ortiz and Karina Tejeda were leaving a nightclub called Spoons on Saturday night when a van ran into them.
Ortiz ran after the van, and grainy surveillance video shows the driver running over him. Ortiz has been hospitalized in stable condition at Western Medical Center. It was not immediately known if Tejeda sustained injuries from the incident.
The van was later impounded and a suspect, Fernando Toscano of Oakland, was booked for attempted murder when he showed up to claim the vehicle.
