Abbott Elementary School in Lynwood damaged in fire

LYNWOOD, Calif.

When crews arrived, they found flames shooting out of the attic. The fire was also burning in classrooms along the front of the school. There was a lot of damage, but crews were able to save some of the most expensive items in the fire area.

"Most of the computers were saved and that was one of the signs that the firefighters saw first coming in and one of our priorities to try to save, which we did," said Dep. Fire Chief Angel Montoya of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported. Investigators said they are going through security video to try to figure out how the fire started.
