The blaze started around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. It was knocked down shortly after 11 p.m.
As many as seven fire engines were on scene, with firefighters from Downey and Vernon helping battle the fire.
The building was apparently vacant. No injuries were immediately reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
