SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.

Lou Ferrigno, the man who played "The Incredible Hulk" on TV in the late 1970s and early 1980s, was sworn in on at a ceremony Friday. The actor and retired body builder has lived in Arroyo Grande for more than 25 years and said he wanted to help his community fight crime.

"To me, it is exciting because this is the real deal, it's not like making a movie. I take this very seriously," he said.

Ferrigno was also a reserve deputy in Los Angeles County.
