Vandalism frustrates San Fernando Valley business owners

July 7, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
Frustrated business owners in the San Fernando Valley are demanding action to stop a vandalism rampage on Ventura Boulevard.

Over the last several weeks, numerous businesses have had their windows shot out or shattered. Businesses from Studio City to Tarzana have been targeted. The culprit has struck late at night, but also early in the evening hours.

"Somebody had come by with apparently a slingshot," said hair salon owner Jeff Swaner. "Literally the day that I paid for the repair, that night it got broken again. It's a $2,500 window."

One witnesses described the suspect as a man around 60 years old with gray, thinning hair in an SUV.

So far, police have made no arrests.
