Mom, son plead guilty to abandoning dogs at Laguna Hills park

SANTA ANA, Calif.

Two kennels stuffed with the 30 dogs were left under some trees at San Remo Park in Laguna Hills in May.

Officials say the dogs, ranging in age from 6 months to 6 years old, were stacked atop one another without food or water.

Investigators were led to Flordeliza Escano and James Alambra when the duo were forced to leave their truck at the park because it wouldn't start.

They were sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to undergo mental health counseling. They also are not allowed to own or live with any animals.
