Dog found on truck engine after 110-mile trip goes up for adoption

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.

A contractor drove 110 miles on Oct. 1 with the dog hiding under the hood. When he stopped he heard something, and discovered the keeshond mix had hitched a ride in his engine.

The driver turned the pup over to animal control. Amazingly, the dog was OK.

The dog, which has been nicknamed Chevy, found a temporary home at the San Clemente Animal Shelter after his owner never came forward. Anyone interested in adopting Chevy should visit the Pet Project Foundation website.
