USC security tightens after Halloween party shooting

LOS ANGELES

Among the changes, outside event promoters will no longer be allowed for USC social events inside university facilities or on fraternity and sorority row.

Also, after-hours access to the campus will be restricted to students, faculty, staff and their guests, seven days a week.

Anyone who enters campus after 9 p.m. will be required to show appropriate IDs.

The shooting happened during an on-campus party shortly before midnight Wednesday. An Inglewood man pleaded not guilty to four counts of attempted murder. Authorities say the shooting was likely gang related.

One shooting suspect was identified as Crenshaw High School football star Geno Hall. He underwent surgery and was expected to be OK. The other three victims were bystanders, whose injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
