'Argo,' 'Les Mis' win best movie awards at Golden Globes

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.

It was a big night for Ben Affleck. Not only did his film "Argo" win best motion picture in the drama category, Affleck took home the award for best director in a motion picture - beating out Spielberg, Kathryn Bigelow for "Zero Dark Thirty," Ang Lee for "Life of Pi" and Quentin Tarantino for "Django Unchained."

"Les Mis" had a good night as well - Hugh Jackman won the best actor award in the comedy or musical category, and Anne Hathaway won the best actress award in the same category.

Other big winners include Jessica Chastain for best actress in a motion picture in the drama category for "Zero Dark Thirty" and Jennifer Lawrence for best actress in a motion picture in the comedy or musical category for "Silver Linings Playbook."

The best actor award for the drama category went to Daniel Day-Lewis for "Lincoln." This was the only award Steven Spielberg's Civil War saga took home, although the film started off the night with seven nominations.

The Golden Globe Awards were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
