Santa Barbara news anchorwoman reported missing is found OK

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.

Paula Lopez, 48, of KEYT-TV was reported missing by family members just after 10 a.m. They said they had last spoken to her about half an hour before. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department and Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue launched a search for her.

Around 6:30 p.m., the station confirmed through family members that Lopez was found at home.

Foul play was not suspected, sheriff's officials said, but her family and work colleagues were concerned about her welfare.

Lopez was last known to have been at her home in Goleta. Sheriff's deputies went door-to-door in that area in search of her.

Lopez co-anchors the station's 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. She started working at KEYT as an intern in 1985 and spent six years in the early 1990s reporting and anchoring in Los Angeles. She's a mother of a son and twin daughters.
