Ventura man attacks ex-girlfriend with knife

A Ventura man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend and put a knife to her throat Tuesday.

The victim reported the assault to the Ventura Police Department on Wednesday and the suspect was taken into custody shortly after.

According to officials, Colton Braga, 19, also threatened his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend. Braga went to the man's house in the 1700 block of Pelican Avenue and threatened him through a closed door with a knife.

Following the female victim's report, Braga was located in the 3300 block of East Main Street near the Pacific View Mall Wednesday and arrested.

He was booked for assault with a deadly weapon at the Ventura County Jail. The knife the suspect used was also recovered.

No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.
