Brea teacher pleads not guilty of having sex with student

BREA, Calif.

Michelle Lynn Johnson, 45, was arrested last month and now faces nine felony counts. Her next court appearance for a pre-trial disposition was scheduled for Aug. 20. A preliminary hearing was not scheduled.

Johnson is accused of engaging in an unlawful sexual relationship with an unnamed 17-year-old boy on numerous occasions at Brea Olinda High School and outside the school between April and June.

The victim's parents contacted police after they became suspicious of the relationship between Johnson and their son.

If convicted, Johnson could get eight years in state prison. She has been placed on leave by the school and is free after posting $20,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information about this case, you're urged to contact the Brea Police Department.
