Police say the 70-year-old driver kept going after hitting the family near Chase Street and Van Nuys Boulevard just before 8:40 p.m., even dragging a stroller with a child inside.
Witnesses got the man to stop a short distance away. He has been arrested for felony hit-and-run. According to investigators, the man might not have known his vehicle was pushing the stroller, but they believe he was aware he had struck someone and failed to stop.
Police say the child who was in the stroller is in stable condition, and the second child complained of a little pain. Their mother suffered torn ligaments.
