Shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday, Ventura police received a report of a man walking around the 1700 block of Victoria Avenue in a shopping mall, exposing himself.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s with black hair, wearing a blue sweatshirt and army pants. Officers reached the area but could not locate the suspect. The reporting witnesses told police the suspect left in a gray sedan.
About 30 minutes later, Ventura police received another report about a suspect with a similar description in a similar car exposing himself in the area of Shenandoah Street and Portola Road. Again, he was able to evade officers.
Later that day at about 4:30 p.m., Ventura police received another report about a man masturbating in a gray sedan in the 6600 block of Telephone Road. Officers arrived on scene and detained the suspect, who was later identified as Nicolas Russell. Russell was arrested for lewd conduct.
