Hans Hansen was visiting Lake Cuyamaca earlier this week with a friend when they saw lightning on the horizon. Hansen took his phone out to record the strikes, and didn't think he was in any danger because the sky was clear and blue above him with no rain.
Hansen said suddenly, he was thrown back, and his phone was knocked out of his hand. He said the electricity dinged his phone, and he was left with a metallic taste in his mouth.
He is able to laugh about it now, but admits he's lucky to be alive.
