Gunman robs elderly resident in Thousand Oaks home invasion

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.

Authorities responded to the 400 block of Shenandoah Street at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Police say the suspect rang the doorbell, and when the female victim opened the door, he forced his way into the home.

The suspect directed the victim to another location in the house, as he stole an undisclosed amount of property. The woman was not physically harmed during the home invasion, but the suspect carried a handgun at his side, police said.

The suspect was described only as a man between the age of 25 and 30, and no suspect vehicle was seen. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Mike McConville at (805) 494-8219. A $1,000 reward is available by Ventura County Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest.
