K-9 helps subdue Murrieta chase suspect

MURRIETA, Calif.

The chase began shortly before 7 p.m. outside the Guitar Center near Village Walk Place and Kalmia Street. A 19-year old, believed to be armed and suicidal, sped off, leading authorities on a 50-minute chase to Temecula and back.

The suspect's vehicle was stopped with spike strips, but when he refused to get out, police used a dog to force him out.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested on charges of firearm theft, felony evasion and resisting arrest.
