Oakland Amber Alert canceled: All parties located

OAKLAND, Calif.

The Amber Alert was issued from Oakland Tuesday night when a shoplifting suspect inside a Safeway store drew the attention of employees, who called police.

The suspect, with a knife in hand, barged into a car in the Safeway parking lot and forced an elderly male driver to drive away with a girl in the backseat. Police say the girl is believed to be 13 years old.

All three are described as African-American. The car is described as a red sedan with California license plate 6JFM648.

The California Highway Patrol tweeted at about 4 p.m. Wednesday that all parties involved were located and the Amber Alert had been deactivated in the Bay Area.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
