SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

The first shooting was reported in the area of Union Street and Medical Center Drive at 12:17 p.m. Investigators say a white four-door 1990s car drove northbound on Medical Center Drive and fired several rounds at two victims, who were standing near the corner.

The victims were rushed to a local hospital, where one person died. He was identified as 20-year-old Enon Damon Edwards Jr. of San Bernardino. The second victim, also a 20-year-old man, remains in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest. He is expected to survive.

The second shooting happened less than two miles away in the 2000 block of West Gilbert Street at 1:47 p.m. Officers found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head and upper torso. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition.

Police say the preliminary investigation indicates that several rounds were fired at the victim while he sat in his vehicle. The gunman's vehicle was described as a 2008 or newer Chevy Malibu, possibly silver in color.

The third shooting also happened in the 3300 block of E. Love Street at about 3:30 p.m. The victim was approached by a man, and almost immediately, the suspect began to shoot. The victim was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper and lower torso. He is expected to survive. The suspect's vehicle was described as dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Chevy Malibu.

Police have not yet determined whether the three shootings are related. It also remains unclear if the shootings are gang related.
