Man killed, woman injured in shooting in unincorporated Bassett

BASSETT, Calif. -- A man was shot to death and a woman was injured in a shooting in unincorporated Bassett near the city of Industry.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were called to the 13100 block of Valley Boulevard around 9 p.m. on Tuesday following a call about someone being shot.

When authorities arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds - a man was wounded in the upper torso, and a woman was wounded in her lower body.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was transported to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries. Her condition was unknown.

Upon investigation, detectives found that there was a gunfight between at least two individuals at the location. However, authorities are not sure if the incident was gang related.
