JFK false bomb threat: 2 flights affected, all clear declared

NEW YORK -- Authorities said John F. Kennedy Airport was given the all clear following a bomb scare Monday night.

Officials said someone called in a bomb threat to Delta Airlines Flight 468, however Delta currently operates two aircraft under that specific flight number - San Francisco to New York, and New York to Tel Aviv.

Port Authority Police took all of the passengers off of the flight from San Francisco, and the aircraft was removed to a remote section of the airport where it was extensively checked. Passengers on the New York to Tel Aviv plane were not evacuated, but the bomb squad followed proper emergency procedures.

Passengers told Eyewitness News that the whole ordeal was frightening.

"Someone came out 'Ladies and gentlemen, there's been a bomb threat on the plane, we need to deplane - you can take nothing with you', which is a kind of pit-in-the-stomach moment," said Jules Brinbaum-Watson.

Authorities said no bomb was found on either of the planes, but it took about three hours to be completely sure. All of the luggage was moved from the plane to be re-screened.

Delta said in a statement that they are fully cooperating with authorities.

No one on the plane was hurt.
