Memorial service held for CHP officer fatally struck by alleged drunk driver in Alameda County

A final farewell to fallen CHP Officer Andrew Camilleri was held Saturday. The service was held at Christian Life Center in Stockton.

STOCKTON, Calif. -- A memorial service was held Saturday morning in San Joaquin County to honor a California Highway Patrol officer who was fatally struck by an alleged drunk driver on Christmas Eve.

Family members and friends were joined by hundreds of law enforcement officers who paid their respects to Officer Andrew Camilleri at Christian Life Center in Stockton.

Camilleri died on Dec. 24 while he and his partner were on patrol in Hayward.

A car hit the back of their SUV as they were on the side of the road on Interstate 880 near Highway 92.
