Finding California truffles becoming a job for the dogs
Many are turning to dogs to detect the prized truffle -- a job traditionally done by pigs.

CARNEROS, Calif. (KABC) -- The growing appetite for truffles is leading landowners in California to plant orchards in hopes of harvesting the delicacies.



Many are turning to dogs to detect the prized food -- a job traditionally done by pigs.



"It will be nice to see them actually work. They're supposed to be working dogs, but so far they've just been lounging dogs," said Robert Sinskey, a winemaker and truffle grower.
