CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) -- An Amtrak train with 85 people on board hit a vehicle that was stuck on the tracks near Pleasant Valley Road and Fifth Street in Camarillo Sunday, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said. No injuries were reported.
Deputies say the two occupants of the vehicle exited the car before it was hit by the train at about 8 p.m., just a few miles away from the site of last week's derailment.
The vehicle ended up in a ditch following the collision. It wasn't immediately clear why it had stopped on the tracks. It was raining heavily at the time.
The passengers on board the train were assessed by emergency personnel at the scene.
The crash comes days after a Metrolink commuter train struck a large pickup truck on the tracks in Oxnard, injuring at least 28 people.
