Meet the 'Mother of Craft Beer'
Carol Stoudt has been brewing beer at Stoudts brewing company for over 30 years. Many have called her the 'Mother of Craft Beer'.

Adamstown, PA. -- Carol Stoudt has been brewing beer for over 30 years.

In 1987, Carol founded he first microbrewery in Pennsylvania, Stoudt Brewery. As the mother of five kids and a former kindergarten teacher, she faced challenges even getting funding for her dream business. "It was hard for me to get financing, because people weren't expecting of a female to be in brewing. Beer was a man's drink. Women, maybe they didn't drink, or if they did, they drank a glass of wine," she said.

Today, Stoudt brewery brews over 9,000 barrels of beer every year, and with over 1,000 different varieties to choose from, there's a beer for everyone.
