Meet Chet and Robin Brisco - the long-time car enthusiasts who love the electric Tesla Model S so much, they got two.
"I've been through BMWs, Lexuses and Porsches and this is the best one I've ever had," Chet Brisco said.
The new "it" car in Southern California can be spotted all over. It even made the cover of the Auto Club's latest "Green Car Guide."
Chet Brisco got his Tesla last fall, and soon his wife got a little envious.
"Late in January, Robin sent me down and said, 'I want your full attention.' I knew what was coming," Chet Brisco said.
Robin Brisco got her own Tesla six weeks later.
Along with his and hers license plates, the couple have two separate charging cords for the plug-in electric cars.
The Tesla is a natural for Southern California, where many are environmentally friendly and welcome the latest trends. The state is also a place where people like to customize cars.
Saleen, a Corona-based company, has been making muscle cars even more muscular for 30 years. Now, they're turning their attention to the Tesla with their eyes on the future.
"It just makes sense for us to gravitate to electric vehicles and to the Tesla in particular because that by far is head and shoulders above every other one," founder Steve Saleen said.
The upcoming Saleen Tesla will still be green, but will also add some mean.
Also in the works is an open-air Model S. Newport Convertible Engineering, which creates custom convertibles, will soon have one on the road.
