Chino High School evacuated after threat posted on social media

CHINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A 17-year-old male student was arrested after posting a bomb threat on social media against Chino High School.



Chino police officers became aware of the threat, which involved the use of explosive devices on campus, at approximately 6:15 a.m.



The Chino Valley Unified School District and campus personnel in cooperation with officers placed the school on lockdown as authorities searched the school. An all-clear was given after two and a half hours of searching.



Two individuals who communicated the threats on social media were identified, and one was subsequently arrested for making criminal threats. He was booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center.



This is the third threat of school violence, proven to be false, the Chino Police Department has investigated this year, the department said in a statement.
