BELMAR, N.J. (KABC) -- Gov. Chris Christie's trip to the Jersey Shore to mark the two-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy kicked up a coastal storm of a different kind.
The Republican was visiting the Monmouth County shore resort of Belmar Wednesday. Jim Keady, a former Democratic city councilman in Asbury Park, stood up and accused Christie of not doing enough for storm victims.
Christie first defended the work his administration has done.
Then he said this: "So listen. You want to have the conversation later, I'm happy to have it, buddy. But until that time, sit down and shut up!"
Keady later accused Christie of being a bully. He told ABC News that he did not say anything to prompt the governor's tirade, saying he was just holding a sign that read: "Stay in New Jersey, Finish the Job."
The governor's office had no response.
