Cool Kid Dillon Eisman 'upcycles' clothing for homeless youth

MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- "No one wants to go to school wearing second-hand clothes that look like they're second-hand," said Dillon Eisman, a senior at Malibu High School.

That's why Eisman founded the non-profit "Sew Swag," turning damaged and donated apparel into cool, trendy clothing for homeless youth.

"I feel like it's such an essential time, you know? You're going to school or college snd that's the time you want to feel comfortable and confident in yourself, and I think clothing has the power to give a lot of people that feeling," said Eisman.

Eisman said it all started when his mother donated her clothes to a homeless shelter.
