Suspect in custody after police officer grazed by bullet in San Francisco's Sunset District

SAN FRANCISCO -- A suspected gunman was taken into custody after a San Francisco officer was grazed in the head by a bullet Friday night.

The incident occurred in the Sunset District at Sloat Boulevard and Everglade. Police issued a shelter-in-place as they searched for the suspect.

Gunfire was exchanged on 27th Avenue and Wawona.

Sources said the officer was taken to a hospital, and he is conscious and talking.

It was unclear what led to the shooting.
