Donald Sterling's latest appeal against Clippers sale denied

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Former L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling had his appeal to block the sale of the team denied by an appeals court Wednesday.

Sterling was attempting to block the $2 billion sale of the NBA team that was finalized on Tuesday.

The 2nd Appellate District Court ruled that nothing could be done since the sale was completed.

"The evidence before this court indicates the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to Steven Ballmer has closed," the court wrote. "Thus, there is nothing for this court to stay."

Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer bought the team for $2 billion in a deal put together by Shelly Sterling, Donald's estranged wife. Donald vowed to block the sale after he was removed from running the family trust.

Donald Sterling was banned from the NBA after taped derogatory remarks disparaging blacks were made public.
