ECHO PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- We've all seen people reading books by a lake but what about on one? The Floating Library on Echo Park Lake could make that a common sight - but only for a limited time.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent pedal boats to reach a small wooden raft on the lake. There, you can check out magazines and books made entirely out of mylar.
The library is a creative project by Minnesota-based artist Sarah Peters, who aims to share art and recreation with the world.
The Floating Library is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Thursday through Sunday. To learn more, you can visit http://thefloatinglibrary.org.
