1 injured in Encino officer-involved shooting

ENCINO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect was taken to a hospital in unknown condition Wednesday following an officer-involved shooting in Encino.

Fontana police were involved in a car chase with the suspect, which ended in a crash in the 6300 block of Yarmouth Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. The suspect then ran out of the car and hopped over a fence into a backyard, police said.

At some point, a shooting occurred. The details surrounding the shooting were unclear.

No officers were injured.

Metro buses were diverted from the area as authorities shut down several streets during the investigation.

Los Angeles Police Department was handling the investigation.
