DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The first ever Hello Kitty Convention kicks off in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.
Hello Kitty Con 2014 showcases all things Hello Kitty at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Downtown L.A.'s Little Tokyo through November 2.
There are exhibits, workshops, panels, tattoos, food and many more surprises for avid fans.
The convention celebrates Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary. Tickets to the four-day convention are sold out.
And nearby, the Japanese American National Museum is exhibiting Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty, the first large-scale Hello Kitty museum retrospective in the United States. That's located at 100 N. Central Ave. and runs from Oct. 11, 2014 - April 26, 2015.
