Jay Z, Beyonce Rose Bowl concert approved

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One of the most powerful couples in the music industry is heading to the Rose Bowl for a big summer concert.

The Pasadena City Council has approved an appearance for Jay Z and Beyonce. The concert will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2. Ticket information has not yet been released.

Concert promoter Live Nation needed the council's approval because a city ordinance limits large events at the stadium to 12 per year. The city reportedly has already gone over the limit.

Events already planned there include three One Direction concerts in September and two nights with Eminem and Rihanna in August.
