Julianne Moore discusses her meaningful role in 'Still Alice'
Actress Julianne Moore talks about her role as a person diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in her latest movie 'Still Alice.'

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Golden Globe winner Julianne Moore finds herself a frontrunner for an Oscar nomination with her latest role in "Still Alice."

The family drama tackles the tough subject of Alzheimer's disease.

"It really is about how do you live with Alzheimer's, not how do you give up and kind of walk away from it, but how do you endure it," she said.

She added that getting to work with her co-stars, Alec Baldwin, Kristen Stewart and Kate Bosworth, was a good experience and that they all wanted to be on set each day.

"This is one of those teeny-tiny movies. It was made in 23 days, you know, in a very cold month in New York City. We were there because we cared about it and we wanted to get it right," she said.

Moore added that her character in the movie will strike a chord with moviegoers because of the subject matter.

"The movie is about the universality of that - about how we all live, we all love each other and we're all eventually going to fade away, unfortunately. But I think that's what people connect to," she said.

"Still Alice" is in theaters now.
