Actor and Grammy-nominated R&B singer Tyrese Gibson says 'Black Rose' is not only the last but also the best album of his career.

Actor and Grammy-nominated R&B singer Tyrese Gibson is combining his two loves in a multi-layered project that involves a hit song, a new music video, a new album titled "Black Rose" and a film project.

Gibson says "Black Rose" is not only the last but also the best album of his career.

"You will press play on 'Black Rose' and you will let this album play from top to bottom and you won't skip one song, that is for sure," Gibson said.

Gibson hosted an album release party at the Samsung Studio LA in the Fairfax District Wednesday night, and let the industry and other music insiders get a first-listen at his new single "Shame."

"It could have just been an industry crowd but they allowed for over 200 of my real fans to be in here and experience this music live on stage in front of my hometown," Gibson said.

Gibson worked on this project through the death of his "Fast & Furious" friend Paul Walker, plus the end of a five-year relationship and a nasty custody battle for his 7-year-old daughter.

"'Black Rose' is my baby. It is my most vulnerable album and it's my most honest, and arguably embarrassing at times that I'm even confessing to some of the things that I've put people through in relationships and in love," Gibson said.

"Shame," the second song on his upcoming album is not only No. 2 on the Billboard charts, it's also a short film due out later this year produced by Denzel Washington and co-starring Jennifer Hudson.

"I'm singing like you've never heard me sing before, ever," Gibson said.

Gibson says the song's quick rise to No. 2 is a confirmation that when you sing from your heart it affects hearts.

"Black Rose" is out July 10. To pre-order the album, visit www.tyreseonline.com.
