High-speed pursuit ends with crash near Gorman

GORMAN, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities were chasing a vehicle on Southern California highways during a wild chase with speeds reaching over 100 mph at times.

The chase began on the southbound 5 Freeway after the vehicle took off during a traffic stop near Tejon.

Around 3 p.m., the pursuit came to an end near Gorman when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into thick brush near a hillside.

Authorities were chasing a vehicle on Southern California highways during a high-speed pursuit with speeds reaching over 100 mph at times.

The driver and passenger got out of the vehicle and began running down an embankment and into the deserted, dense area.

Authorities are searching for the driver and passenger.
