HOA asks mom to remove son's memorial site from median
A mother whose son was hit and killed by a car may have to remove the child's memorial from the accident site

HOUSTON -- A Texas mother whose son was hit and killed by a car may have to remove her child's memorial from the accident site following a notice from her homeowners association.

Abraham "Bubba" Garza, 8, was killed in 2012 when he was hit by a car on Blackhawk Boulevard in Southeast Harris County, Texas. His mother, Crystal, visits the site of the accident regularly. Three wooden crosses and a few decorations mark the spot where Bubba was hit.

Garza found a citation from the Sagemeadow Maintenance Committee on the ground next to the memorial on June 4. The note reads: "Sorry for your loss. Please remove from median."

Garza does not want to remove the memorial.

"It would devastate me again," Garza said. "This reminds me that everybody cares."

KTRK-TV is waiting on a response from the homeowner's association.
