HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One person was hospitalized after being struck by gunfire early Monday morning in a shooting outside a Hollywood nightclub, authorities said.
According to a Los Angeles Police Department sergeant at the scene, the incident was the result of an argument that began inside the Tiffany's on Vine nightclub and escalated into gunshots at about 1:45 a.m. in the 1700 block of Vine Street.
The condition of the shooting victim, identified only as a male, was not immediately known.
A woman who was at the venue said she heard an initial volley of six gunshots, followed by a pause and then six more shots.
News video showed investigators examining a red Chevrolet Corvette whose windshield was shattered.
A weapon was discovered inside a black Jeep at the location, and a person was detained for questioning, police said. It was unclear if the recovered weapon was used in the shooting.
A section of Vine Street, just north of Hollywood Boulevard, was closed as the investigation continued.
